Privacy policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
This policy explains what information the Calcurate app and this website handle. In short: the app has no accounts, keeps your settings on your device, and does not sell or share personal data.
The app
- No account. You do not sign up or log in.
- Settings stay on your device. Your base currency, currency keys, display tint, keycap set and sound setting are stored locally. Cached exchange rates are also stored locally.
- Exchange rates. To get rates, the app requests them from ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com) and, as a fallback, Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev). Like any web request, these services receive your IP address and basic request information. No personal information from the app is included in these requests.
- Widgets. On iOS, the widget shares settings and rates with the app through an App Group on your device. On Android, widgets read the app's cached rates on your device.
- Permissions. The app does not request access to your microphone, location, contacts or photos.
- App stores. Apple and Google may collect information under their own privacy policies when you download or use apps from their stores.
This website
- Pages may request exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API in your browser to show live figures.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it serves them.
- We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies, to count page views.
- The site remembers if you dismiss the install banner using your browser's local storage.
Children
Calcurate is a general-audience calculator and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
